The evening began with Olga Chepkunov discussing REDI Diagnostics, a leading medical imaging service provider in New Jersey, and sponsor of the event. Ms. Chepkunov also spoke about REDI Pharmacy, a custom compounding pharmacy located in Nanuet, NY. The pharmacy specializes in custom-made prescriptions for various medical fields and works closely with patients and their physicians to ensure the best results from compounded medications.
Ms. Chepkunov was follow by the event’s guest speaker, Norberto Garcia, Esq., is a civil trial attorney with extensive experience and involvement in the New Jersey legal community. Mr. Garcia discussed the current state of civil trial courts in New Jersey, which he noted are currently operating at a 20% deficit due to judicial vacancies. He urged attendees to contact their local state senator and the Governor’s office to address this crisis. Mr. Garcia also shared his insights on trying cases in a post-COVID world, emphasizing the importance of keeping witness testimonies and opening statements concise and to the point.
Dr. Dariusz Nasiek, MD, then took the stage to share his expertise as an expert witness in a recent lawsuit. He discussed the distinction between surgeries and procedures within the legal context, using a lumbar facet endoscopic ablation as an example. Dr. Nasiek highlighted the benefits of minimally invasive procedures over traditional surgeries, such as reduced invasiveness, no need for general anesthesia, same-day discharge, and fewer complications.
The event concluded with attendees enjoying delicious food and engaging in networking and discussions about medical-legal issues. A special “pop-up” seminar will be held on March 30th at the Royal Warsaw, with details to be announced soon.
